On September 6th, the International Defence Industry Exhibition MSPO (Międzynarodowy Salon Przemysłu Obronnego) under the patronage of Polish President, Mr Andrzej Duda will begin at Kielce Trade Fairs SA. It is the biggest trade event in Central and Eastern Europe; it is an extremely prestigious and economically important show for Poland, that has been organized for 24 years now.
MSPO competes in Europe only with the fairs in London and Paris. Between 6th and 9th September, Kielce will be visited by representatives of over 500 companies operating in the defense industry of both - domestic and foreign markets. This is an opportunity to showcase the latest technological solutions and military equipment and sign new contracts. This year, the visitors will see, among others, 8 helicopters built by Airbus, PZL Swidnik, Sikorsky PZL Mielec Company, TAI and Boeing.
A novelty at the fairs this year is the presence of people just starting their businesses (start-ups). The initiative of providing them with the common stand came from two institutions: the City Hall of Kielce (Urząd Miasta Kielce), which provides patronage to Świętokrzyskie start-ups, and from the Polish Agency for Entrepreneurship Development (PARP), that supports young companies from all over the country. The Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency (PAIiIZ) and the newly formed Office for Establishment of Territorial Defense, Ministry of Defence, will be present at the fairs as well.
